What Others Have Built
This page is all about how other people have designed & built their own self balancing scooter based on the information from this site.
If you would like me to include your own designs then please email them to me & I will publish them on this page.
I often get emails from people around the world who have questions regarding building their own self balancing scooter & after a rocky start Thomas from Denmark has made his own. I particularly like his design, it is much shorter than mine & the steering looks great plus it looks very well made with attention to detail. The mechanical design is awesome & the wiring looks safe & secure with all joins & connections sleeved.
To say thank you for our help Thomas has given us permission to publish the following pictures & video, the video is good quality which means you can view it full screen but will need a fast broadband connection to view it smoothly.

Thomas tells me that he used this rubber mount for the steering, it came from a VW Golf, I don't have any more details but with the pictures I should be able to make the same steering mechanism for mine. He also mentioned that the wheels came from a wheelbarrow, I like the wheels but unfortunately I've not seen any wheelbarrow wheels that would fit a standard wheelchair motor but I'm going to check again the next time I go to the local store.
Here's Thomas talking about his next project which is a 4 rotor helicopter, plus I really like his accent!
His house looks far to nice to be testing his next project inside.
