The 1300mm Hot Wire Kit

The 1300mm refers to the length of the hot wire, we used to sell a custom built 1300mm cutter for cutting the polystyrene pods used in the building/concrete industry. Unfortunately we can not get the same power supply and have not sourced a good alternative so we now offer a 1300m kit.
The kit is fully assembled and will work straight out of the box, you just need to add your own frame, for most tradesmen this option covers the difficult electrical bit and all you have to do is create a wooden frame to hold the each end of the wire.
The wire will expand slightly so it will need to be kept under tension, the easiest way to do this is to keep the gap between the wooden arms to less than 1300mm and then bend the arms in to fit the wire, and when the wooden arms are released it will keep the wire taught.

There is no on/off switch so we recommend using an extension cable that has a switch.
This cutter will eliminate the mess made when trying to use a hand saw or even a chainsaw, not to mention the time that is wasted trying to sweep them up, plus those small bits float on top the water in drains which leads to blockages & more expense.
If trying to use a hand saw for long periods then your arm will soon tire, with this you can cut all day making it so much quicker.

Only the supplied wire & power supply can be used, never experiment with another power supply or different wire type or length.
Do not use or leave this cutter in the rain.
We would recommend that this item is to be used in a well ventilated area as the fumes from some materials can be harmful.
Only for use with polystyrene, foam & similar materials.
A full range of spares are available via email & spare wires are available from this page, although experience has shown that the supplied wire will last for a very long time & only break due to metal fatigue and not due to the heart, depending on use you may never need to replace it. But if you rely on the cutter for work then it may be prudent to keep a spare.
